A WET AND BLOWY WEEKEND IN FANTASTIC SURROUNDINGS

December 18, 2018

Well what a week and weekend after all the hustle and bustle of the Sussex Guild show at Midhurst it was straight back into Stitch'n'Shenanigans workshop to start creating some new creatures ready for The Little Grey Sheep open days, All started well on Monday until Tiger the other sleeping partner of Stitch'n'shenanigans appeared at the workshop door with a sheaf of important looking paperwork a pen and a stern look upon his face.

With a polite tapping on the door i was greeted with a stern  " We need to talk Sarah" nervously i replied "Why yes Tiger what do we need to discuss?" the reply I received was not what I wanted to hear as I thought I had safely delegated this task to Lavina who had promised to give it her full attention.

"It’s your Risk assessment and method statements" he replied " they have nothing of the dangers of catnip or the correct procedures for a session of pokey paw from under the bed" quickly thinking on my feet I endeavoured to placate him with promises of improving my administration and not to trust Lady Lavina to fulfil any promise of help.

After successfully appeasing Tiger it was back to work as a delightful little mouse was starting to appear before me she looked up at me with those dear little black eyes and informed me her name was Millie and that her and her Husband Milton would be moving into the Stitch'n'Shenanigans boarding house. She also informed me that she was the P.A. to a very influential Mouse from a Blue cheese chip company and that sorting out the Stitch'n'Shenanigans risk assessments and method statements would be no problem at all.

With this all in hand and Millie typing away on Stitch'n'Shenanigans trusty Underwood typewriter I was able to give my undivided attention to my true passion which is creating and slowly Mr Milton Mouse began to appear on the work table with a yawn and nose twitch he opened his eyes and smiled at me before asking if I had seen Millie as he was missing her. I promptly reunited the pair it was very heart-warming to see.

With all this happiness bubbling away inside me I set about creating Daphne the Dachshund ready for the Little Grey Sheep open Days with minutes to spare for the final loading of the Stitch'n'Shenanigans charabanc Daphne leapt from the workshop table to be met by Bodger the Jack Russell, Bodger being Bodger promptly started a game of chase your own tail to which Daphne looked on in complete amazement at his antics, when a dizzy Bodger finally fell into a heap Daphne politely informed him that she would not be partaking in silly game but would be more than agreeable to a game of chase in the Stitch'n'Shenanigans secret garden.

Please don’t get too messy it has been raining solidly and were Mr Brock has been snuffling in the secret garden it is  quite churned up in places said Sarah to the two excited pups.

Thankfully they both listened and after twenty minutes of chasing barking and jumping the two puffing pups wandered back into the workshop ready for final grooming ahead of the journey ahead.

All went well at the open days and it not being long on the Saturday before Bodger and Daphne were spotted by tom and barbara a delightful couple from just outside of Haslemere, they ummed and arrred over the two pups before decided to individually adopt them both for each other.

With the open days drawing to a close it was time to pack up the remaining creatures ready for the workshop Christmas party ( A full report of this will be posted after Christmas),

This brings this edition of Stitch'n'Shenanigans blog to a close as we prepare for the forthcoming festive season

I have numerous commissions to create for the New Year as well as lots of lovely new woodland folk ready for the new seasons of craft shows.

Without further ado may I take this moment to wish every one of you a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR.
